Scotch 82 Q&A 2020 Update
Introduction.
Scotch Boys sing "40 Years On", whilst at School, and therefore we are approaching a milestone of our Scotch Family life together, with our 40 Year Reunion being on Campus, by The Yarra River, at the Cardinal Club, in July 2022 (at least that is the pre-COVID-19 plan).
Scotch College Melbourne Class of 1982, or Scotch 82 for short, is an Equal Opportunity for our Classmates to discuss our Alumni experience, and often this results in Questions that we seek to find Answers for, to the best of our ability, using Social Media.
OSCA Pastoral Care.
Some Important Questions....
What's our Year Group's Social Media future? Where is OSCA Leading us? Are our Scotch 82 Social Media Policies and Procedures aligned with Scotch and OSCA Values?

The Old Scotch Collegians Association has developed a new website OSCAconnect, and it's Pastoral Care approach can be found easily and clearly stated on a Relaunch OSCAnet as it relates to our Year's ongoing Reconnect, Reconcile, and Reunite approach, using Social Media.
OSCA YOB's
Q. How are our Young Old Boys using Social Media to help Support and Care for each other?
A. Our Young Old Boys Getting Around Each Other, OSCA, and Scotch Boys, not to mention being active in Clubs and Societies, and Social Media plays an important part in their post Scotch lives!
Our OSCA YOBs have felt the need to encourage conversation/discussion around this kind of facebook group, and posted about it on their Instagram page.
OSCA Feedback.
Q. Are we as a Year Group able to provide Feedback to OSCA, or must we do that Individually, looking ahead to 2021, and 2022.
Q. Is there any Synergy happening between out Year Group and OSCA, either on their Social Media Profiles, or more Privately in OSCA Connect, or via messages and email, for example?
A. It's perhaps fair to say that there has been a lot of traditional broadcasting that happens about OSCA initiatives, as a result of Individual, Clubs and Societies, and Year Group feedback, and if we wanted to infer that our Social Media initiatives have been well received, then that's possible too!
Previous Scotch 82 Q & A Blogs.
In providing a record of the previous Questions our Classmates have asked, and the Answers we've come up with (so far), the approach "there is no such thing as a silly question, because someone else is probably wondering the same thing" has been taken.

Scotch Family Values...
In the May 2020 Edition of Great Scot, Editor Durga Kamte describes some Scotch Family Values, and how we nurture them:
"... in social justice initiatives, such as the Sony Camp, in which, during holiday time, boys and girls helped children with significant disabilities. Participation in the Walk for Women showed students’ commitment to equal opportunity, and the 24 Hour Hike raised funds for a charity associated with Down syndrome." (quote -> https://view.joomag.com/great-scot-may…/M0028403001588208369)
Charity, Equal Opportunity, and Social Justice were values nurtured in us too, during our time at Scotch, and continue to influence our year's, and individuals, use of Social Media, along with the Scotch Community.

More in our Scotch 82 End of Year Wrap, and where these values are leading us from here in the lead up to our 40 Year Reunion -> https://scotch82wrap2020.blogspot.com/2020/03/scotch-82-wraps-2020-milestone-3.html
Exploring Australian Men's Pastoral Care...
Based on feedback from our Classmates, this year we took a look at "Exploring Australian Men's Pastoral Care" as a Scotch 82 Support and Care initiative for 2020, asking important questions as we went.
Q. Is there an OSCA Pastoral Care and Support Theme for 2021?
A. Yes! OSCA have started to explore if there is a "Cardinal Thread" that helps keep our Scotch Family stitched together, in our Scotch Family magazine, Great Scot.
